Image via Wikipedia Turkey is traditional for Thanksgiving, but the big day on Christmas (or smaller, family meals for Hanukah), make for a wider range of options. Duck? Ham? More turkey? This year, I'm craving prime rib -- maybe a nice filet instead of the whole standing rib roast, but I want dark, luscious, dripping with juices beef. What are you having for Christmas dinner?

ReplyDeleteHam. Definitely ham.
ReplyDeleteThough, I want to try duck/goose at some point.
Leg of lamb.
ReplyDeleteSlightly smoked beef tenderloin as found here: http://www.virtualweberbullet.com/beeftenderloin1.html
ReplyDeleteNo meat for us. We always have four cheese lasagna.
ReplyDeleteBeef tenderloin, I hope! I like this recipe: http://weber.com/Recipes/Recipe.aspx?rid=34
ReplyDeletePrime rib sounds good, too....
Garlic and herb crusted rack of pork. Made prime rib a couple of years ago and I don't like to repeat, but damn that's always a great option.
ReplyDeleteNo meat. Just loooots of latkes.
ReplyDeleteTurducken for the second year in a row! I'm looking forward to it.
ReplyDeleteThere was a discussion to try goose - however; mom nixed that because she thought it was too greasy.
ReplyDeleteIs that true? I'd see goose being consistent with duck, but I'm not sure.
Also, we're kind of interested in trying Turbaconducken...

The family always has a ham on Xmas Eve but, on Xmas, when it is just the 2 of us, we crave anything non-traditional. By then, we're done with the holiday meats and ready for Chinese or Italian. Speaking of Italian, we've often wondered if anyone in the Indy area offers a "Feast of the Seven Fishes". We'd like to check that out sometime but, alas, have no Italian relatives.
