As Louis Calli noted on Facebook, today is the first day of announcements for Wine Spectator's annual Top 100 list. The magazine will be rolling out the top 10 two-by-two on their website this week with the full list available online next Monday, Nov. 17. Retailers are already gearing up as this list usually recognizes old standbys and a few terrific values. Full explanation of how they select these wines is online. First up are numbers 10 and 9 -- the Seghesio Sonoma 2007 Zinfandel ($24) and the Mollydooker 2007 Carnival of Love Shiraz ($90).
