Where O Where Are the Super Bowl Parties?

What is with the dearth of Super Bowl parties? You'd think this town had never been in a world championship before! Luckily, a few food writers have done the leg work so I didn't have to. Look for more in this week's Dish and Nuvo where both the fabulous Ms. Christy Speer and the talented Mr. Terry Kirts share what they found. If you're like me, you're itching to make plans and here's what we've found so far:

From The Dish:
Oceanaire Seafood Room (30 S. Meridian St., 955-2277), with the big-screen TVs and the $30 Devour Downtown menu

Champions (350 W. Maryland St., 822-3500), for the $13.95 buffet (with a hot-dog bar!), themed cocktails, 32 TVs, drawings and drink specials

Fionn MacCool’s Irish Pub (8211 E. 116th St., Fishers, 863-2100), with $10 buckets of beer, a $6 party food buffet and beer specials

Mo’s A Place for Steaks (47 S. Pennsylvania St., 624-0720) will host a buffet dinner, unlimited drinks and cash prize drawings for $200 a person. (From what I hear, also look for big screens, and Colts swag.)

Morton’s, the Steakhouse (41 E. Washington St., 229-4700) starts the party Friday, February 2 (5 to 7 p.m.) with a Colts Martini (pineapple vodka, blue curacao, a blue cherry and frappe-foam) and complimentary petite filet sandwiches—and keeps it going until game day, with pre-game apps, a dinner buffet, dessert and drinks (plus, of course, the game on the big screen) for $85 a fan.

Ruth’s Chris and St. Elmo Steakhouses are both closed on Super Bowl Sunday. (Ruth’s uses the day for the employee holiday party, and it’s a long-standing Elmo policy to close for the game, says general manager Chris Clifford—“an unofficial, official holiday.”)

Additional happenings we've heard about at Feed Me/Drink Me (and from Terry):

Champp's (Northside and Downtown): Both Champp's are having a “Super Bowl Sellout” Party where they’re trying to sell out every seat. $25.

RAM Brewery: Dying one of their beers blue.

Rock Bottom: $5 gets you all-you-can-eat pizza and wings.

Of course, the Blue Crew Sports Bar will be a hub of activity and look for several northside sports bars to set up tents with big screens (and hopefully heaters).
