Tidbits Tidbits
Taste Cafe Expands: Chef Deidre Henry, who recently won the Second Helpings' Ultimate Chef competition, has announced she's expanding her popular Meridian Kessler eatery, Taste Cafe. (Taste is a perfect breakfast alternative if you get tired of standing in line at the 49th and Penn Cafe Patachou.) The plan will roughly double the current size of her restaurant and greatly expand her kitchen. Look for her to add dinner service with tapas-style small plates perfect for a neighborhood weeknight summer.
Hanslits Move to Indiana Business College: Susan Guyett reported in last weekend's Star that 14 West executive chef Tony Hanslits will be taking over the new culinary program at IBC. He'll be working with his downtown restaurant in a "consulting" role but turning the reigns over on a day-to-day basis. No word who'll be running the show.
Conseco Fieldhouse Adds New Restaurant: The folks at Conseco Fieldhouse have announced they'll add a new 600-seat restaurant -- Legends -- on the south end of the Club Level run by the same company who runs the 400-seat Varsity Club restaurant already there. You won't be able to get in though, unless you purchase a "membership" for $5750 which includes tix to 45 Pacers games and 18 Fever games (plus parking, nameplates on seats, chicken wings and nachos.) They're trying to appeal to folks who don't have regular suite seats but still want to entertain clients with food and drink. As long as they don't discontinue server service to the Club seats during the game.
