Wine Auction Update -- Playing with Animals

Was checking out the catalog for the Jacoby Agency/Prudential presents Elegant Vintages Wine Auction on Saturday March 8 and there are some pretty amazing lots. Along with Burgundies, Cabs, Chards, Shirz, Champagnes, and all manner of other fantastic wines all rated 90-100 pts by Parker, Spectator, and Burghound, there are some other pretty creative lots including chances to bathe an elephant, drive an Indy car, play with penguins, and swim with dolphins plus a couple of impressive trips. From event co-chair (and local wine geek) TJ Cole:

*Always wanted to crew on the “Stars and Stripes” America’s Cup yacht? No problem – Lot No. 54.

*Want to bathe an elephant and then ride her back to the elephant barn? We’ll make the introductions – Lot No. 10

*Want some 100 point wines? We’ve got two – Lot No. 22.

*Does eight days on an exclusive Caribbean island sound good right about now? We’ve got you covered with Lot No. 34.

*Want to drink some Kistler Chardonnay before even their mailing list members get to? We can make that happen – Lot No. 32.

*Want to see your child/grandchild’s photo on the cover of Inside the Indianapolis Zoo? Just say when – Lot No. 49

*In the mood for the best Champagne in the world? We’re starting off with a bang with Lot No. 1.

The wines are an amazing collection of lots including over 400 bottles of the world’s best wine. Tickets for this black tie event are still available. Register online or call the Zoo -- 630-2188. $150, $200, and $300 includes five courses and wine for dinner.
