Bertolini's Downtown Closes

I was just logging in to post this and see Cory has the full scoop! Bertolini's in the Mall (lower level by Chang's) is shuttered. More detail at Property Lines. From what I've been hearing upstream (from vendors, etc.) expect a few more underperforming chains to shake out this spring.

I liked Bertolini's but I thought the food was overpriced -- so I only went when I wasn't paying!

I loved going there for business lunches -- it was always quiet enough to talk. (was that a sign, or what?!)

I was annoyed, though, when they stopped serving the tapenade with bread. It was great.

I hope that will give an opening for some more independents

Just tried to have lunch at Korean/Japanese restaurant Dami in Fishers -- and it's closed! I could swear I saw their sign up as recently as 3 weeks ago, I don't drive by often. Hadn't been there in 2 years but was looking forward to some bulgogi. Headed to Thai Smile, a few doors down, instead -- and had a very good Pad Siuw.
