SI (Sexy and Intimate?) Opens Friday

Lots of buzz building this week about the opening of the newly renovated Scholar's Inn. There's a soft launch tomorrow night with the opening on Friday. They've apparently dropped opentable.com -- at least, I can't find them in the listings. I'd suggest a reservation if you want to drop by for supper. (And I'm hearing good things about the new interior.) I'll be interested to hear your thoughts! (No menus or photos are up yet on the site.)

Kinda sounds like an upscale strip club...

I dropped by last night for a diet Pepsi (unfortunately, I didn't see any of the promised appetizers) and the decor looks like a hodge-podge of garage-sale finds. Lots of chocolate brown and red, but with random punctuations of white (curtains, formica tables) and beige (tabletops). The long neon communal table on the second floor is cool but incongruous with the overall color scheme. Maybe when it's dark it will all gel better.

The big question (that the website doesn't answer) is will there still be half-priced martini night on Thursday?

I stopped by this evening and love the new decor. The bar area has been opened up with the removal of the high back chairs whereas the booths are high and round, providing for an intimate dining area. It looks as if they've scaled back the menu offerings, but it all sounded wonderful!

We had no trouble getting reservations for Friday night. Wonder how busy they've been.
