Coming up!

We're beginning the Fall stretch of food and wine events before the holidays. Here are two "can't miss" events in the next few weeks:

Saturday, October 20
Harvest, a benefit for Second Helpings
This yearly kickoff for the fall season is a who's-who of local chefs and wine folks. Plus, it's a benefit for a good cause. Be aware, the event has moved from downtown to the Ritz-Charles in Carmel.
7-10 p.m., Tickets: $60

Thursday, October 12
Diamond in the Rough Sale
It's not even on the Kahn's website yet, but mark your calendar for this popular wine sale. Jim Arnold lines up wines distributors who are liquidating, discontinuing (sometimes for something as simple as a new label), moving out, or overstocking wines of all varieties. Come ready to find some gems -- and buy by the case. Bring a friend and split your order -- it's a great way to stock up for the holidays.
Tickets are usually around $70 with food included.

Update: For some reason, I had Harvest scheduled for September 23. Don't know why but it's corrected now. Whee, I have Saturday night open now!
