Karl Benko, Adobo and Pikk's Tavern

Where's Karl Benko been lately? After a busy year consulting and spending a lot of time in airports, Benko is hanging around town for the next month. He's come on board with DaVinci group to help Exec Chef Javier Fuentes and the rest of the team get the downtown Adobo Grill up and running along with the new northside Pikk's Tavern. (Pikk's will go in the current Adobo space.) Opening one restaurant is challenging enough, but opening two in 30-days can be touch. Benko will be lending his expertise in logistics, staffing, and of course, food as these two new restaurants open.


In the meantime, the folks at Adobo on the northside have asked for a little moving help. Pop in for fresh tableside gauc on Sunday, August 31 -- their last day -- and get a molcajete set to take home. Then, bring it with you on or after the downtown opening, Sept. 10, and get free gauc for your trouble.
