Brunch from Taste Cafe
Not enough for a Three Lastest and Best this week, so I thought I'd get these out before they go stale.
Had a lovely Sunday lunch in a chef pal's home with some old friends last weekend. The last minute feast was perfect thanks to Marc and Diedre Henry at Taste -- a creamy quiche, tangy beat and goat cheese salad, and tomatoes with mozzerrella and balsamic. Even better were the fresh tomatoes from the garden, still warm from the sun, wrapped in basil and sprinkled with a bit of fleur de sel. (Not to mention the Premier Cru Brugundy and the '86 Margeaux from the host's cellar.)
The expansion is nearly done and their website touts upcoming dinner service (called "Aftertaste.")
