Open Thread: Your Cuisine of Choice

So, if you could only eat one cuisine for the rest of your life, what would it be? Northern or Southern Indian? Sezchuan? Tex Mex? High French? Northern Italian? Vietnamese? Assume that American is out as a choice and that the food is pretty good (since I'd rather eat a shoe than bad versions of some ethnic food.) Who knows -- with the way the economy is going, we might all be eating the cuisine of the *next* major economy. Some cuisines would be tasty but could cause health problems long term. My choice? I think it would be Thai. What say you, o mighty readers?

I love real Mexican food. I spend most of each winter in Mexico and other than the fact that it's 80+ degrees I get to eat great food from the Yucatan.

But, I think if I had to choose just one cuisine it would be Thai. So many flavors and for the most part it's a healthy way to eat.

Casting another vote for Thai. And I'd give anything for Indianapolis to finally have a high quality vegan/vegetarian restaurant.

Korean.

Hot pepper, pickles, soups, rice, noodles, raw seafood, grilled meats, garlic, soju...

I'd have to go with Thai, but would like some Irish, Italian, and Indian foods on standby.

Also, I heartily agree with the poster who wants a high quality vegetarian experience. The Abbey isn't what it used to be.

Thai for sure! As a vegetarian, it offers the most options and the most deliciously cooked tofu for the money.

I'd vote for Thai as well. What is everyone's favorite Thai place in Indy?

I always get great food at Thai Spice on the South side. If you ever ate at Thai Garden downtown it should seem familiar since it's the same people.

Just picking one, because I like to follow rules like that: Vietnamese.

Why? - Freshness, flavor, texture, heat, variable temperatures. Oh, and peanuts!

It breaks my heart that there are so many little kids (including my nephew) who have dietary restrictions that prevent them now and maybe forever from eating Vietnamese (and Thai) food. Breaks my heart!
