I don't know if it's the best, but I'd probably go to the South Bend Chocolate Company if I wanted pick up a cheesecake.
I'm stumped because I've yet to find one I really like. If only Benvenuti was still open and had their bakery on Penn. They made an incredible amaretto cheesecake. Sigh.
You might want to consider this post from Ruth Holladay before supporting Atkins:
Boycott Atkins' cheesecake; it might give you indigestion
I'd say go to Shapiro's.
