A: Macarons

Macarons are not birds and they're definitely not to be confused with macaroons, the chewy coconut cookies we all love. Macarons are French almond meringue cookies, that started as a drop cookie and morphed into a sandwich cookie. They're most popular today in bright colors with a layer of ganache as filling between the two halves. Want to find macarons locally? I haven't tried them there, but last time I looked, there were on the menu at Petit Chou in Broad Ripple. And the answer? 58% of you got it right!

Once you have had real French macarons, you will recognize the Petit Chou macarons as poor imitations. If they can't sell good, fresh ones, they shouldn't bother at all.
